101 on Summer + Luxury Extensions Maintenance
Once you make that leap and invest in yourself and your hair with luxury hair extensions with us, we will go over everything you need to know when it comes to maintaining them.
The extensions we offer in the studio are the Lamborghini of all hair extensions and we make sure when you leave you are confident and comfortable with maintaining them.
Since every weft is colored custom and your natural hair is custom colored by us- the color factor is really important to keep fresh looking throughout the summer months. The Sun is rough and so is chlorine in the pools. We always highly suggest when you are on vacation to make sure you are shampooing, conditioning and detangling everything out with a wet brush thoroughly after each pool dip. When I went to Hawaii last year I was conscious of when my hair extensions got wet and I took care of them afterwards.
Summer is just around the corner and keeping your luxury extensions beautiful will take just a little TLC. Here the top tips for keeping your long locs luscious and soft throughout the sunniest months of the year.
#1- Get a trim. Make sure that your extensions are trimmed up. We like to call it the famous “dusting” at each appointment to make sure the split ends don’t ride up the extension hair and age faster.
#2- Find a cute hat and/or scarf to cover your hair in the sun. This will be a must and be a cute addition to your wardrobe.
#3- Masquing and Olaplex. This is probably the most important step to keeping the moisture in your extensions and keeping your color looking good as long as possible. We love Kevin Murphy Hydrate Me Masque and Olaplex #3 for at home maintenance.
#4- Be careful with sunscreen on your blonde extensions. The ingredient avebenzone will turn your hair pink. So use a avvebenzone free spf like Bare Republic. We like to use a spf for your hair (yes that exsists!) Like Kerastase’s Sun Protecter.
