Shampooing

Shampoo with a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, preferably with a one that we suggest for you at the salon. Make sure you emulsify the shampoo and scrub in between your rows. Investing in some clips to clip up each row and a shower head nozzle to thoroughly rinse out all traces of shampoo is essential.

Condition the whole head and massage it in, rinse with luke warm water.

You can Get away with less shampooing weekly by doing a toupee wash. Pull your extension hair in a low bun take your natural hair from the occipital bone up and shampoo it only, then condition. Blow dry and style as usual and spray dry shampoo in between the rows then brush. This will help you from feeling too dirty after day 2 or 3 of no shampoo

Blow Drying

Towel dry hair thoroughly. Spray a leave in detangler and brush starting at the ends and working your way up to the scalp. Rough dry your hair 80% of the way before you round brush anything. Once hair is 80% dry, start brushing everything very thoroughly. Brush over your rows and do not be scared. Take sections of each row and blow dry them individually. Make sure you have a nozzle on your blow dryer and are using a round brush with a metal plate. This goes for blowdry bars as well, make sure they know to rough dry 80% before round brushing.

Curling/Styling

Make sure to use a heat protectant before using any hot tool on extension hair. Start at a medium temp and take your time until you are confident with going at a higher temperature. Smooth out each section before you curl this will keep curls intact for a longer time and keep the look more polished. Use a light misted hairspray that you can layer and won’t weigh the hair down.

• No sleek tight ponytails while working out or sleeping. Top knots, tight pony’s and messy buns should be for dirty days and fashion statements.

• Use an extension friendly oil on day 2, 3 or 4 of no shampooing after styling. Try to avoid oil on real hair since this will cause a noticeable separation of hair textures.
